Mitrex, an Integrated solar and construction solution provider, is looking for an experienced, full-time Materials & Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for managing inventory flows for manufacturing purposes.  The individual will also be responsible for managing our inventory management system and overseeing the Procurement team, as well as managing logistics and making sure that delivery arrives on time.

EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES

  • University degree preferred. Minimum College Diploma; preferably in Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Formal academic exposure to logistics and warehousing would be an asset
  • Minimum five (5) years of proven strategic sourcing and replenishment experience
  • Minimum three (3) years “hands-on” ERP experience
  • Knowledge of warehouse systems, manufacturing, quality control processes and procedures
  • Formal Continuous Improvement experience – Exposure to 6-Sigma and Lean manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Prior supply chain or operations experience within a Solar Panel Manufacturing environment preferred

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all aspects of site Materials function (Purchasing, Material planning, Inventory Control, Shipping, Receiving, Customer Service, and Warehousing).
  • Develop Inventory strategy, plans, and processes to drive sustainable Year Over Year (YOY) Inventory reduction, without jeopardizing service levels (internal & external customers
  • Drive Cost Out to meet established objectives for Distribution, Logistics, and Materials savings.
  • Oversee activities of the Material Schedulers to assure that customer delivery, manufacturing efficiency, and plant inventory objectives are met, and that engineering change activities are effectively coordinated.
  • Develops and maintains a Procurement Strategy. Maintains relationships with Supply Base and leads ongoing contract negotiations
  • Develop inventory controls/limits (KPIs) and manage ERP/MRP integration
  • Systematically troubleshoot, analyze, identify, and eliminate material inhibitors, cycle time detractors, and extraordinary costs associated with material procurement to optimize inventory levels and manufacturing schedule
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management
