We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Supply Chain Purchaser to be located at either one of our Elgin, IL or Grand Forks, ND locations. The successful candidate will be a detail orientated individual with exceptional customer service skills.

This position to reports to the Director of Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Monthly review of inventory requirements for a wide portfolio of professional tool, equipment, and safety products.
Purchase order; processing, tracking, confirmation, and importing of shipments.
Providing regular forecasts of future ordering requirements to vendors.
Daily correspondence with our international suppliers and logistics partners.
Produce both weekly and monthly reports for management.
Setting up new vendors and products on our ERP system.
Checking import documents and billing documentation for accuracy.
Customs clearance of products by brokerage or self-brokerage.
Providing the warehouse with documentation for initial receipt of goods.
Costing of shipments.
Arranging deliveries with local truckers and international freight forwarders.
Processing invoices for payment.
Closing and maintaining import files.
Maintenance of supplier files.
Other duties to be assigned when required.


Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with a university degree or prior supply chain experience.
Detailed oriented and logical individual with the ability to make objective business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong listening ability.
Personal accountability and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Customer service oriented with a sense of priority and purpose.
Tolerance to change and the capability to handle stress in a positive manner.
Strong numerical aptitude.
Proficiency with both MS Word and Excel.
A genuine desire to embrace new digital technologies.
A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative role or in a similar role.
