POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The position of Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the preparation, working and processing of ultrasound exams to produce high quality studies for interpretation.

HOURS:

Must be available 7 days a week - days, evenings, nights, weekends and vacation coverage, and/or statutory holiday - 7.5 hour shifts. In addition, the non-availability requirements of the Collective Agreement of the Collective Agreement must be met. The successful candidate must also be available for short notice relief calls. 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program
  • Current registration with CARDUP is required
  • Current BCLS certificate
  • Experience with Cerner HIS and GE Centricity PACS preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate ultrasound experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in all aspects of general sonography
  • Vascular, Obstetrical and Musculoskeletal experience preferred
  • Proficient in interventional ultrasound procedures
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and application of practical and theoretical ultrasound knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and accurately
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing education and affiliation with Ultrasound Professional Associations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
  • Satisfactory attendance record as per the STEGH Attendance Management Program
  • Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values.

Successful candidates must provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work. Any candidate entering the facility to attend an interview will be required to provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status. To be considered fully immunized, individuals need to have received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days earlier than the date they arriving to an interview or to begin work at STEGH.
