    SALARY: $32.99 - $45.56

     

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The Diagnostic Imaging team at STEGH includes General Radiography (XRay), Computer Tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine (NM), Bone Mineral Density (BMD), Mammograph, Ontario Breast Screening Program, Ultrasound, Fluroscopy/Gastric Barium Studies, and Specialized Procedures (Biopsies, Drainages, etc). All imaging procedures are performed by Medical Radiation Technologists (MRT) and interpreted by Radiologist using state-of-the-art technology allowing us to provide the best possible service to our community and surrounding areas.

    As part of the Thames Valley Hospital Planning Partnership, all imaging studies acquired at STEGH are part of the Regional PACS (Archiving System). Radiologists and other Medical Professionals at STEGH and all centres within the region have access to all imaging studies taken within TVHPP and can compare current studies to priors regardless of acquisition origin.  This avoids duplication of imaging and unnecessary radiation to the patient.  These studies are also part of the South Western Ontario Diagnostic Imaging Repository which contains access to all images acquired in LHINs 1 through 4.

    The Diagnostic Imaging Department performed over 48,000 procedures last year!

    The Ultrasound Technologist will perform high quality procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in a patient's diagnosis and/or treatment. 


    HOURS
    :

    The successful candidate must be available to work all tours applicable to the department. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program
    • Current registration with CMRITO mandatory
    • Current BCLS certificate
    • Experience with Cerner HIS and GE Centricity PACS preferred
    • Minimum of three (3) years' of post-graduate ultrasound experience is preferred
    • Demonstrated competency in all aspects of general sonography
    • Vascular, Obstetrical and Musculoskeletal experience preferred
    • Proficient in interventional ultrasound procedures
    • Ability to exercise good judgment and application of practical and theoretical ultrasound knowledge
    • Strong interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of infection control practices
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
    • Evidence of ongoing continuing education and affiliation with Ultrasound Professional Associations
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
    • Ability to adapt to changes in assignment throughout a shift, follow instructions and conduct yourself professionally
    • Ability to work alone, prioritize and take initiative – self-motivated
    • Physical ability to carry out the essential duties of the position
    • Excellent attendance record.

    Successful candidates must provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work.
