POSITION:                                           APPLICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR

COMPANY OVERVIEW: Clayton County Water Authority provides water, sewer, and storm water services to more than a quarter of a million people throughout Clayton County and its six cities through approximately 82,000 customer accounts.

Purpose of Classification:

This position is responsible or administering and supporting assigned CCWA enterprise applications including, but not limited to, Cayenta, Mobile Work Force Management, Pay Guardian, Bridge Pay, Invoice Cloud, Kiosk, and the AMI Application OR JD Edwards, Insight Hubble, Remit Plus, and DSI (Barcoding Solution).  This position reports to the IT Applications Manager.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Serves as the technical lead in support for assigned enterprise applications and associated solutions.  Answers calls, chats, and email requests for support; determines the nature of problems, troubleshoots issues and provides solutions for associated applications.

Proactively monitors assigned enterprise applications for performance issues and service outages and leads remediation efforts.

Coordinates with contractors and vendors on implementations, maintenance, patching, projects, upgrades, and support calls.

Performs OS patching and maintenance for all server environments in support of assigned enterprise applications.  Communicates upgrades, maintenance, and outages as necessary for assigned applications.

Acts as internal project manager for all contract work.  Prepares proposals/recommendations to stakeholders for any new updates/upgrades to include feature releases, security risks and end user impact.

Creates and maintains governance documentation that defines business owners, technical leads, and clearly assigns responsibilities for use and support of assigned applications. Works with IT Operations team to design implement and test a tiered back up system that includes local and off-site back ups to protect assigned applications.

Research current and emerging technology as it relates to application administration and suggests changes, upgrades and improvements as necessary. Actively protects technology assets and infrastructure from internal and eternal threats by maintaining knowledge of firewalls and other security solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma; Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Systems Administration, or a related field preferred, supplemented by 3 years of progressively responsible experience in application, database, or systems administration, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Possession and maintenance of one or more of the following certifications or licensures is preferred: Microsoft Certified IT Professional Database Administrator/Developer or Solutions Expert Data Platform

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must have experience coordinating with contractors and vendors on implementations, maintenance, patching, projects, upgrades, and support calls. Must be able to problem-solve, communicate effectively, and make decisions. It will be helpful for this position to have broad technical knowledge and expertise in application architectures and experience in systems administration including SQL database administration or support. This position should have experience planning and a natural curiosity for the way things work and why. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position

 

 

PAYGRADE:                                        Grade 22 (Starts at $71,098.19/annually - 106,648.38/annually)
