Job Summary:

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for placing orders, and/or rescheduling delivery of orders for assigned parts, materials, and supplies pertaining to the manufacturing process, or items required for general business activities – ensuring quality standards are met and products are purchased at the best value. You will also assist with sourcing and procuring supplies, products, and services for the company.

 

 Job Duties:

  • Reviews the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) report and internal requisition systems for purchasing requirements and executes daily actions according to department procedures (P.O. releases, supplier acknowledgments) 
  • Reviews requisitions and Engineering documents for requirements and specifications for same
  • Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification, and at a good price
  • Researching new suppliers and making recommendations to supply chain team
  • Work effectively between multiple ongoing projects
  • Conduct regular reviews of current usage levels with above parameters to ensure proper ordering volumes and patterns are followed to support Manufacturing and Service needs
  • Review all available reports for shortages and excess and take appropriate action to expedite or disposition material
  • Assist with inbound logistics tasks as required
  • Resolve non-conforming product, invoicing and other issues in a timely manner to ensure availability of product and timely payment to suppliers
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers and other departments to resolve procurement related problems
  • Escalate internal organizational issues and all issues pertaining to Suppliers (Cost, Quality, Availability, and Commercial) to the team for resolution
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other procurement-related tasks as needed (cycle counting, inventory adjustments, new supplier identification)
  • Special projects and other procurement and logistics related duties as requested
  • Comply with all applicable local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

 

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 1 -2 years purchasing experience preferred
  • Previous experience in manufacturing is required
  • Excellent communication and office administration skills
  • Experience with ERP platforms is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

 

Physical Requirements:             

  • Must stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations
  • Required to stand for prolonged periods
  • The ability to lift up to 50lbs. is required, with the ability to occasionally lift up to 75lbs., preferred
  • May perform duties requiring employee to intermittently bend and twist
