POSITION LOCATION:

This position will be located in the Toronto Plant (Don Mills and Lawrence area) and will have a regular shift starting 11:00pm until 7:00am.  The successful candidate must be able to work the occasional overtime during week days and/or weekends throughout peak periods.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the POD / Digital Production Supervisor - the Digital Press Operator (Night shift) will work closely with our Sales and all production teams to ensure that all production goals are met with a high standard of quality, while meeting all production scheduled deadlines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manipulate and set up PDF files for the queues of the press
  • Ensuring quality of print, colour and registration
  • Adjusting and maintaining machines as needed
  • Managing paper inventory
  • Informing upper management of any issues
  • Following instructions and tasks assigned by Supervisor
  • Maintaining an organized and clean work space
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures; and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to hearing and eye protection policies, PPE rules, and all strict Covid-19 protocols
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of all levels
  • Performs other tasks as assigned, this may include (but not limited to) spreadsheet work, email communications, other related duties, and other special projects/responsibilities which are not listed above

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work the night shift from 11:00pm to 7:00am on a regular basis
  • Previous experience in a printing environment is necessary with a minimum 3-5 years of previous experience as a Digital Print Operator or alike position (preferably using Xerox BW and Xerox/Canon colour devices)
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Great attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Keen eye for colour matching, attention to quality
  • Strong time management skills
  • Quick learner who is well organized and willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Available to work immediately
  • Meticulous, bondable, reliable
  • Candidate must be a Canadian citizen permitted to work in Canada residing in the Greater Toronto area
