Our company is a food recovery company that offers processors a solution to dispose of their by-products safely by reducing their operating costs and securing their image. We are looking for a: Maintenance Manager

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager coordinates all maintenance activities and supports the various installations and modifications of the group's plants and the sites of Ontario's customer-suppliers.

 

The Main Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision, coordination, and oversight of activities for maintenance department
  • Set and manage department goals and objectivities and manage performance
  • Planning and completing preventative maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Maintain and manage critical parts inventory including purchasing of equipment accessories and repair
    components
  • Manage facility and customers site maintenance and improvements
  • Directs layout drawings related to equipment modifications or installation.
  • Lead installations, preventive and routine maintenance of plant & customer sites

 

The Role:

  • Establish standard maintenance planning and scheduling processes while leading health & safety initiatives and protocols for the maintenance team.
  • Schedule repairs, maintenance, and insure continuous production of operations at the customer site and plant.
  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance program for plant and customer’s site
  • Mentor and coach maintenance technician and improve maintenance personnel skills and abilities through training
    programs
  • Prepares departmental budget and monitors expenditures.
  • Develops, implements and manages the execution of capital reserve projects to maintain and improve the property building and site.
  • Manage inventory for supplies, equipment and tools, ensuring adequate inventory for the plant and the service van
  • Manage effective critical spare part and MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) inventory systems and monitor MRO Spending
  • Work with procurement and other corporate partners to build and leverage relationships with strategic vendors
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with team members, guest, and customer.
  • Interfaces with other department heads and specifically with the customer satisfaction manager on work priorities and activities at customer site.
  • Interacts with general/sub-contractors on projects.
  • Monitor effectiveness of Preventative Maintenance Program and look for continuous improvement opportunities ensuring program is kept up to date
  • Ensure emergency situations responded to in a rapid manner
  • Responsible to mitigate and reduce equipment downtime according to agreed KPIs in support of the engineering lead new equipment installation

 

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in maintenance leadership preferred 
  • Strong leadership capabilities who can demonstrate his/her ability to lead change, and implement sustainable quality strategies in support of rapid operation
  • Engineering degree or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Extensive technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and control equipment (Hands-on experience is ideal).
  • Lean Manufacturing and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles
  • Strong management and development skills including communication, conflict resolution & continuous learning.
  • Ability to be available after hours and to create a structure for emergency call in.
  • Ability to travel domestically and regularly to customer sites
