POSITION LOCATION:

This role can be done remotely.  If there is a RRD office location near to the successful candidate, a hybrid model will be applied.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Contracts and New Business Management, the Bilingual Contract Analyst supports the entire Canadian Contracting Process and most duties surrounding the creation, modification, organization and filing of all of RRD Canada’s contracts.  The Contract Analyst will also support the ongoing maintenance of the Canadian Contract Data Base and the Paperless Contract Data Base.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as liaison between corporate Legal / Risk Management / IT Governance Departments and RRD business owners (i.e. Sales, Plant Management, Privacy Management)
  • Ability to interpret specific contract clauses and identify the ramifications for RRD business owners
  • Organize and expedite the flow of contract work, initiating any follow up action as appropriate
  • Update and maintain records in the Contract Data Base and the Paperless Contract Data Base on an ongoing basis
  • Support Canadian Record Retention requirements
  • Create and issue standard monthly Price Adjustment reports and manage the monthly price adjustment meetings
  • Manage client contract files with medium to advanced complexity
  • Manage supplier contract files
  • Complete French / English contract translations
  • Accurately prepare certain legal documents and related correspondence
  • Participate in small to medium size contract negotiations in either French or English
  • Proof reading and editing of contracts, in English and French
  • Support Risk Analysis to determine acceptance on Government bids
  • Review legal requirements for RFP and similar type public tenders
  • Follow up with sales / clients / suppliers on unsigned documents (particularly NDA’s) and in active documents
  • Give notice of terminations to both inactive documents and NDA’s that should be terminated
  • Load contracts into Perceptive Contact Contract Data Base and update Meta Data for each contract loaded
  • Liaise with Risk Management Department, to obtain insurance certificates or insurance certificate renewals
  • Complete or support on Record Retention Audit Activities
  • Complete Contract Compliance Reviews
  • Ensure Insurance Certificate provisions are adhered to by all contracting suppliers

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Law Clerk Diploma, Certificate from Post Secondary Educational Institution is preferred, Legal Assistant or Paralegal graduate with related work experience will be considered
  • Fully Bilingual in both written and spoken French / English
  • Minimum of one year experience in Canadian legal environment
  • Attention to Detail
  • Strong Microsoft computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel
  • Past experience with contract development and contract negotiations is a plus
  • Past experience with contract data base is welcome
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Legal translation experience is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with other staff and professionals
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
