Learning and Development Specialist

Position Summary

The Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for managing the design, development, and delivery of training and organizational development programs across locations in North America.

This position will assist in areas such as training, performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, onboarding and other areas of Human Resources that require a high level of confidentiality. This person will work with our subject matter experts to facilitate and deliver on training programs, identify new organizational training and development needs and potential solutions to those needs. This person would also conduct needs analysis to determine new training initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, development, and implementation of L&D strategies, programs and policies
  • Implement and administer a new Learning Management System
  • Facilitate design and development of employee development programs
  • Work in partnership with subject matter experts to create and deploy product training
  • Conduct training needs analysis, identify gaps and present recommendations
  • Track and report on all training hours
  • Conduct research on best practices in Learning and Development and talent management, and provide recommendations around best practices
  • Review all content vendors on an annual basis for contract renewal

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of related experience in adult learning, training and change management
  • Experience implementing a LMS and L&D strategy
  • Excellent knowledge of e-learning approaches, SCORM or xAPI standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Creativity, adaptability, and resourcefulness
  • Strong sense of organization, ability to multitask with competing priorities
  • Bilingual (English and French) an asset
  • Must have experience in the following programs or related programs: Articulate/Rise 360, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Learning Management Systems
  • CPHR or Certified Training Professional designation, considered an asset
