We are seeking Machinists to join our team in Fort McMurray, Alberta at our Millwrighting, Machining, and Welding Town Shop in the Leo Roberts Industrial Park. The shift rotation is seven (7) on, seven (7) off, 12-hour shifts rotating day and night shifts. This is a local position at the Fort McMurray area. You will be required to have your own transportation and accommodation.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
  • Operate machine tools such as: Horizontal boring mill, conventional type mill, lathes, surface grinder, radial drill and portable align boring equipment
  • Operate metal shaping machines, such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
  • Follow Safe Work Procedures and ensure all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used.
  • Complete field service work as needed

What are the job requirements?

  • Alberta Journeyperson or Inter-provincial Red Seal Certification.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
  • Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO); or OSSA BSO Certificate.
  • Successfully complete comprehensive pre-employment Drug, Alcohol, and Audio testing.
  • Must be physically fit. The role involves extensive walking, carrying heavy materials, climbing and being in awkward positions
  • Eligible to work on all Oil Sand sites within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
  • Must have own accommodation and transportation within the region (no camp or fly in/fly out options).
