We are an industrial group consisting of 15 companies specialized in the flexible packaging sectors: from the handling of incoming products from process lines to dosage and weighing, through to horizontal and vertical packaging.

Based in Newmarket, ON CANADA, our industrial group designs, builds and markets around many models of flow-wrapping and vertical form-fill-seal machines, stand up pouch packaging machines together with various automatic feed systems and the ancillary equipment employed for custom-made installations.

 

Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Supervisor

The Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Supervisor position is to ensure the success of our packaging machinery projects through the supervision and oversight of our electrical assembly area. This position is the primary point of contact for interdepartmental communications and initiatives (primarily production and engineering departments,) including design and assembly customizations, alternative cost controls measures and inventory management.

This position is located at our Newmarket location.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise electrical assembly of control panels and machinery on production floor
  • Oversee the design and editing of electrical schematics
  • Supervise creation of production manuals, including procedures and production assembly instructions
  • When necessary, assist in completion of user manuals & relevant documentation to meet tight deadlines, including equipment specifications
  • Perform random QC Testing, troubleshooting, flaws analysis before operation of sold equipment and prior to shipping
  • Research of new solutions to improve equipment and reduce production costs
  • Oversee the design of software (PLC, HMI and Computer Software) tailored to the customers and company’s needs.
  • Inventory management control of electrical assembly production
  • Liaise with electrical engineering and production departments regarding any design changes, customizations and modifications necessary
  • Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) with external vendors, distributors and customers
  • Train workers on both general and electrical production floor procedures/practices as well as company safety standard requirements

 

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Secondary school diploma with relevant experience in a supervisory or management role in the manufacturing industry
  • 5+ years of job-related experience in an electrical technician role
  • Previous experience in electrical supervising or management
  • Experience in testing industrial machinery to verify it complies to safety requirements
  • Experience in industrial automation, including electronics and mechanics; applied to production plant environments
  • Experienced in the use of mechanical and electrical tools
  • Experience with CAD software (Creo) for electrical and mechanical design, including 3D modelling / printing
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as: Ladder, C, C#, XAML, SQL.
  • Proficiency in programming platforms such as: Visual Studio, Studio Code, Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, PM Designer and Asem UNIQO
  • Knowledge of IT networks and their structure
  • Bilingual (English and Italian) preferred
  • Availability to travel
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is an asset
