We are looking for a motivated Opto-Electronics Technician to join our team!

 

Summary

The Opto-Electronics Technician is responsible for the assembly, alignment, calibration and testing of test of electro-mechanical and electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies to be used in sensors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Physical assembly and prepare assemblies and sub-assemblies for various tests.
  • Physically inspect, functionally test and set up printed circuit boards and systems, following prescribed procedures.
  • Troubleshoot units both mechanical and electrical. Repair defective units, consulting with Engineering on complex problems.
  • Monitor tests and record required data on prescribed forms. Prepare proper written records of all test results, using prescribed forms.

 

Qualifications:

  • Technician diploma
  • Good manual dexterity and a strong mechanical and opto-mechanical aptitude.
  • Must have good analog and digital electronics knowledge and good troubleshooting abilities to the component level.
  • Must be able to work from schematics, assembly drawings, test and manufacturing procedures. 
  • Must be fully conversant with all test equipment, i.e. scopes, analyzers, etc.
  • Good knowledge of optics and lasers.
  • Must have good soldering skills.
