We are currently seeking experienced Crane Operators in South East Calgary , AB.
 
As a full-time Crane Operator at Beacon, you’ll travel locally to deliver building materials to our customers, while adhering to and understanding safety policies and regulations.
 
A clean driving record and top-notch customer service skills are a must! Experienced, safety conscious, and customer-focused drivers encouraged to apply!
 
 
A $750 sign-on bonus is available to successful candidates upon the completion of 3 months and a 2nd bonus of an additional $750 after the completion of 1 years’ service.

What will my day-to-day look like?
  • Operate Articulated/Cable Boom trucks to transport materials.
  • Inspect loaded truck for accuracy, compliance with weight restrictions
  • Maintain accurate records for submission to Fleet Office
  • Loading and unloading of materials on residential & commercial jobsites
  • Follow safety policies and procedures while loading, traveling and on jobsites are essential in this role.
  • Ensuring safety and security
  • Use GPS, atlases and other trip planning
  • Daily inspections and overseeing the condition of the truck on a daily basis (Follow a daily pre-trip inspection list)
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes and other equipment
  • This can be a seasonal or permanent position

 

What are the requirements?
  • Hold a valid 0-8 tonne hoisting license.
  • Both 3Aand 1A driver applicants may apply.
  • Operate knuckle boom with valid 0-8 tonne license.
  • Able to drive both manual & automatic trucks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence between truck and branch throughout the day.
  • Strong math skills are an asset.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

 

What will give me an edge over other applicants?
  • Preferably 1A Drivers' License Holder, but 3A drivers encouraged to apply too
  • 1-year previous CDL Driver experience.
  • Experience with building products/warehouse
  • Forklift Operator and/or Fall Arrest certification.

  • Day Shift
  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Potential Overtime
