Green Diamond Equipment is your Maritime John Deere Dealership with 15 locations to serve you, and we are looking for a skilled, dedicated person to fill the position of Road Technician - Agricultural Equipment at our Kentville, NS location.

Purpose:

Independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment and implements. Work would be performed on the road.


 Responsibilities as a Road Technician:

  • Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Precision Ag products
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools
  • Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, must be willing to travel
  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
  • Accounts for all time and for all material used in performing assigned duties
  • Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager
  • Due to the nature of our business, technicians can/will be required to work overtime and be on call primarily during the peaks of our seasons. This will vary by store location.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

  • 2+ years of experience performing service repairs required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on the machines of the Technician’s specialty
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment
  • Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • Heavy Equipment or Agricultural Technician education preferred
