The Job Opportunity – Inside Sales Representative

We are seeking a full time Inside Sales Representative for our Vancouver, WA location. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality individual with a great customer service aptitude and a passion for construction and building materials
As an Inside Sales Representative you will assist our walk-in customers, provide counter sales expertise, answer phones, provide product knowledge and other assistance as required. You will coordinate and work closely with our Outside Sales force, drivers and warehouse personnel to meet our customers’ needs in a timely and efficient manner.


Responsibilities

Respond to customer inquiries concerning price, qualifying product needs and partner with vendors for support
Accurately and promptly process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns
Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
Coordinate delivery and/or pick up of customer orders with operations team
Educate customers on different products and their applications
Communicate with outside sales representatives on customer orders, requirements, problems or concerns and changes
Initiate product transfers to other branches
Generate, place and confirm purchase orders with suppliers
Enter sales data into the computer and researches information for customers using the computer system
Receive payment for merchandise or services sold and enter sale into the computer
Responsible for -payments received and adhering all administrative and accounting related procedures
Keep product knowledge current to evolving manufacturing supply
Participate in the physical inventory of the warehouse materials
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Two years prior sales or customer service in building supply and construction services industry
Residential and commercial roofing and siding products knowledge; building envelope products knowledge is helpful
Ability to quickly and thoroughly learn and retain product information and technical concepts
Problem solving skills with ability to handle stressful situations such as rejection, varying workload, and deadlines
Willingness to take ownership responsibility for all assigned tasks.
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral); good listening and people skills
Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic about the building industry
Excellent decision making and ability to take initiative independent of direct supervision.
Aptitude for navigating POS (Point of Sales) software.
Must be ethical, honest, positive, and outgoing.
Must be dependable
Must have a valid driver’s license.
