Hospital Bio

Kenora’s cultural roots are a rich tapestry of old world traditions and modern Canadian multiculturalism. People have been living on the Lake of the Woods for thousands of years, and this area served as an important portage on the cross Canada waterway, connecting the Lake of the Woods and the Winnipeg River. Situated not far from Winnipeg and nestled in the heart of North America’s Premier Boating Destination, Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH) is a fully accredited hospital under the national standards of Accreditation Canada. LWDH’s goal is to provide high quality patient care. LWDH meets the immediate healthcare needs of residents of the City of Kenora, as well as a large surrounding area, including several First Nations Communities.

Treating well over 30,000 people per year, LWDH is Northwestern Ontario’s largest hospital outside of Thunder Bay. Additionally, the hospital is an integral partner in the All Nations Health Partners Ontario Health Team; one of the first 24 teams in the province and is currently in the planning phase of developing a new All Nations Hospital.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced and innovative team environment and the idea of being able to boat to work and eat lunch on the dock sounds appealing, we look forward to hearing from you!
