POSITION:                                         SPATIAL ASSET ANALYST I

DEPARTMENT:                                 PROGRAM MANAGEMENT & ENGINEERING

 

Organizes and categorizes GIS information; creates and maintains data layers.

Designs and prepares projects to support presentations, customers, applications and reporting needs.

Writes and maintains application development and end user documentation for GIS and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Assists in the collection, storage, maintenance and dissemination of GPS data: may perform preliminary analyses.

Interprets and assesses data for accuracy and completeness to support internal and external customer/project needs.

Helps to develop and communicate standards, methods, and quality assurance/control processes and procedures.

Uses, creates, and maintains ArcGIS services and applications.

Provides first line technical assistance and training.

Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures: receives and reviews various documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.

Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.

Communicates with supervisor, other CCWA employees, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; supplemented by one year of experience in collecting and interpreting GIS data or closely related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required: None.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all CCWA or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

 

PAYGRADE:                                        20 (Starts at $28.293/hourly)
