Our company located in Mississauga at Derry and Drew Rd is currently seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Operator. We are looking for someone who has 3-5 years’ experience, working with steel plate.  The ideal candidate would possess the experience and ability to use clamps and magnets to move steel plate.  Also, the candidate must be comfortable loading and unloading machine tables and stations in a safe and efficient manner to facilitate production lead times as directed. We are looking for team players; our company works as a team to get our products to our customers. Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Top Pay package based on experience

Role and Responsibilities

  • Operate overhead cranes and identify, pick and move material and parts for processing where needed
  • Prepare and package steel parts/plates for distribution. This can include but not limited to labelling, kitting, color coding, skidding, banding etc. according to given instructions.
  • Load and unload machine tables and stations in a safe and efficient manner to facilitate production lead times as directed
  • Identify and understand different grades of steel
  • Verify and Tag plates with the required information for the purpose of staging for daily production
  • Assist machine operators in removing parts for QA inspections as needed
  • Assist shipping and receiving personnel in loading and unloading trucks where required
  • Build skids for packaging steel parts and other general warehouse duties as required
  • Be comfortable completing paperwork, tests, training and logs as required

 

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience as and Overhead Crane Operator
  • Experience using clamps and magnets to move steel plate
  • Experience working with Steel plate and different grades of steel
  • Detail-oriented and organize
  • Basic mathematical aptitude
  • Experience using various measuring tools and small power tools
  • Heavy lifting required up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work bi-weekly shift rotation as it is a requirement of the position: The shifts are: 7am -3pm and 2:45pm-11:15pm.
