Green Diamond Equipment is your Maritime John Deere Dealership with 15 locations to serve you, and we are looking for a skilled, dedicated person to fill the position of Road Technician - Agricultural Equipment at our Kentville, NS location.

Purpose:
Independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment and implements. Work would be performed on the road.
Responsibilities as a Road Technician:
- Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Precision Ag products
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools
- Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, must be willing to travel
- Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
- Accounts for all time and for all material used in performing assigned duties
- Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager
- Due to the nature of our business, technicians can/will be required to work overtime and be on call primarily during the peaks of our seasons. This will vary by store location.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- 2+ years of experience performing service repairs required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on the machines of the Technician’s specialty
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment
- Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
- Heavy Equipment or Agricultural Technician education preferred
