Privacy Policy
Toronto Jobs Journal is committed to providing a safe, protected, and secure experience for our users. Your privacy is of paramount importance to Toronto Jobs Journal, our advertisers, and web publishers. We value your loyalty and will use our best efforts to ensure that the information you submit to us remains private, and is used only for the purposes as set forth herein.
Information Collection and Use
Toronto Jobs Journal is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Toronto Jobs Journal collects information from our users at several different points on our web site. For example, when you sign up to use a service, enter into a contest, or purchase a product, we may need more specific information about you, such as name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, credit car d number. If you give us permission, we may use that information to make you aware of additional products and services that may be of interest to you, or to contact you regarding site changes. Toronto Jobs Journal collects information on non-personally identifying details such as, but not limited to, the server you are logged onto, the geographic location of the ISP you use, the type of browser you use, and your IP address. This information is obtained for the purpose of measuring ad effectiveness on behalf of Toronto Jobs Journal clients and customers as well as providing information to help us determine what is most beneficial for our users, and how we can continually create a better overall experience for you.
Third-Party Services
We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.
We partner with another party to provide specific services. When the user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.
Security
This web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the web site, your information is protected both online and off-line. Toronto Jobs Journal has put security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alterations of the information under our control. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number), that information is encrypted and protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL (Secure Socket Layer). SSL encryption technology scrambles numbers and letters, making it virtually impossible for them to be stolen or intercepted. While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers' information is protected. If you have any questions about the security at our web site, you can send an email to securityToronto Jobs Journal.
Resumes
Since Toronto Jobs Journal is a career site, we give you the option of putting your resume in our database. By storing your resume in our database, you allow the contents of your resume to be searchable by non-paying recruiters, hiring managers, headhunters, and human resource professionals. If you allow your resume to be searchable, then all recruiters who pay for access to our resume database product will have access to your contact information and resume. We use our best efforts to grant access to your personal information only to paying recruiters, hiring managers, headhunters, and human resource professionals. However, we are not responsible if some other third party, such as someone posing as the aforementioned and paying for the service, evade security measures and gains access to the database, and, subsequently, your resume.
However, recruiters who have paid for access to the database may have retained a copy of your contact information and resume in their own files or databases before this time. We are not responsible for the retention, use, or privacy of resumes in these instances.
