Class 5, P&D Driver and Dock Worker

Location: Edmonton, AB

Job purpose

5-ton driver for pickup and delivery Edmonton and area plus dock work loading /unloading trailers including computer generation of manifest paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate 5-ton truck with hydraulic brakes along with power/manual forklift operation

• Ensure secure loads, pick-up and deliver freight locally

• Write up bills of lading for freight

• Record cargo deliveries and build trip manifests

• Maintain routine communication with dispatch

• Work in a team-oriented, fast paced environment

• Fill out paperwork and forward Bills of Lading in a punctual manner

• Pass random and scheduled driver road tests

• Continually pass company reviews/evaluations
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Ability to show up to work on time and capable of working 40 hours a week

• High School Education (minimum). Two years industry experience.

• Valid Class 5 license and current driver’s abstract (within 30 days)

• Speak, read and write English at a high level

• Clean pre-employment drug & alcohol test

• Excellent fast computer skills

• Adept at working in a competitive atmosphere where daily deadlines must be met

• Adhere to company Fit for Duty and Substance-Free Workplace policies

• Adaptive to a flexible driving schedule and adjusting to unforeseen circumstances

Salary / Benefits

• Pay starting at $22 hourly
