We are your Maritime John Deere Dealership with 15 locations to serve you, and we are looking for a skilled, dedicated person to fill the position of Assistant Service Manager at our Stratford, PEI location.
Purpose
Assists the Service Manager in managing the Service Department operations within the dealership with a focus on BRP and Turf to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction is exceptional and above industry standards while maximizing return on investment by optimizing service department processes.
Responsibilities
- Assists in communicating, enforcing, and monitoring service department processes
- Assists in creating annual location service department goals and action plans
- Assists in executing service department marketing plan with the direction from corporate service manager and marketing manager
- Assists in coordinating customer clinics, field days, and related promotional events
- Assists in ensuring that all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims within the required timeframe
- Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to BRP and Turf techs in the service department according to their skills and knowledge
- Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
- Assists in recruiting, staffing, and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position
- Assists with the development and training of service personnel and completes performance reviews of service staff
- Participates in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
- Assists in operating and maintaining service vehicles, tools and equipment
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Maintains knowledge of John Deere, BRP and competitive products
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working in a service department; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred
- Experience with off road, agriculture, turf, or heavy equipment
- Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes
- Experience with basic computer functions
- Experience leading and working cooperatively in a team environment
- Experience communicating effectively
- Experience analyzing and interpreting internal reports
- Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license required, CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred
