Millwright technician

Job type:  Full-time, Permanent (Mon-Friday + on call)

We are looking to hire a Millwright technician for our facility in Taber, AB and farms in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

We supply row crop farmers with the equipment and systems to plant, feed, protect, harvest, store, and process crops like potatoes, carrots, onions, beans, garlic, and other specialty crops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assembly of equipment in shop and field
• Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and routine maintenance of various farm machinery and equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Installation and retrofitting of complex production equipment; fabricating and welding as required.
• Use a lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to match the appropriate specifications.
• Align machines and equipment during installation, using hoists, jacks, and other tools
• Safely perform work by themselves and with others
• Assist with other duties as required

Requirements:

• Parts and machinery knowledge, preferably row crop equipment
• Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
• Must be a dependable and self-motivated team player with the ability to communicate effectively, negotiate, and conflict resolution.
• Comfortable working at heights, dusty environments, heat/cold, indoors/outdoors, and confined spaces
• Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
• Able to work well under pressure and shifting priorities
• Strong computer and technology skills is a must
• Valid driver’s license and clean driver abstract
• Forklift certificate
