Welder / Fabricator

We have a great opportunity for a Welder to join our team in London, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Fit sub-assemblies and assemblies together and preparing assemblies for welding
- Use three major types of welding: arc, gas, and hard-facing
- Use various welding and cutting processes to join structural steel and cut metal in vessels, piping and other components
- Fabricate parts, tools, machines and equipment
- Join parts being manufactured, builds structures and repairs damaged or worn parts
- Control for quality before, during and after welding
- Travel to job sites when a repair is required
- Complete any necessary administrative requirements such as weekly logs
- Openly communicate with other departments and team members
- Conduct repairs in a timely and efficient manner
- Adhere to all applicable health and safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
- Participate in all company training provided
- Support other roles when required
- Other duties as assigned, including cleaning up the yard around the shop.
Requirements
- Red seal certified by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Lays out, cuts, and forms metals to specifications
- Full G Drivers license with clean driving record
- Capable of working independently and as a valued team member
- Proficient with computers
- Experience working on multiple systems such as: engines, fuel, electrical, hydrostatic and transmission, suspension, hydraulic, transmissions, and engine management, climate control, intake exhaust and emission control, steering, braking, drive, structural components, and ground engaging equipment
- Basic working knowledge of large trucks, construction related vehicles, and construction equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of the Ministry of Transportation requirements regarding heavy equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Forklift certification is an asset
Working Conditions:
- Full time - up to 50hrs/week, with possible overtime and occasional weekend and/or evenings.
- Travel to job sites may be required
- Work around moving equipment, trenches, road work, and noise.
- A lot of physical movement including, but not limited to: walking, sitting, standing, squatting, driving, and lifting, kneeling and lying down
