POSITION: Decision Support Assistant  
Primary Site: Stratford  
Full-Time
 
POSITION SUMMARY: The Decision Support Assistant is responsible for supporting the Decision Support Team in providing health information and clinical data to various stakeholders.  The incumbent will provide analysis, evaluation, and reporting of the clinical utilization of the Alliance in order to support identification of health system priorities.  The Decision Support Assistant will perform a key role in data reporting, compilation, and manipulation through various tools.
 
REPORTS TO: Manager, Decision Support
 
DATE REQUIRED: As Soon As Possible
 
SALARY:             $30.98 to $ 34.42 per hour 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Health Administration or Health Information Degree or Diploma from a recognized College or University
• CHIMA designation preferred
 
Knowledge & Experience:
 Decision support experience; hospital or physician’s office, health records experience or equivalent years of experience in a healthcare setting 
 Experience with Crystal Reports, Med2020, Meditech and Excel 
 Must be a “systems” thinker with a broad-based outlook/perspective in health care 
 Strong analytical skills and solid mathematical background
 Demonstrated experience in preparation of statistical and management performance reports 
 Experience with healthcare data, CIHI data sets, MOHLTC reporting an asset

• Possess strong communication (both verbal and written), and decision-making skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong aptitude for analysis and interpretation of data 
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple deliverable simultaneously 
• Ability to think and act independently and work with minimal supervision 
• Ability to function within a collaborative team environment 
• Mature, flexible, organized and self-directed 
• Able to apply and solve business oriented solutions 
• Able to effectively and efficiently interact and collaborate with all levels of staff within the Alliance (e.g., Senior Management, Management, IT, front line, etc.) as well as external partners and stakeholders of the Alliance
• Ability to exercise initiative in solving problems and identifying opportunities 
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex and detailed data into meaningful information 
• Team focused with a systems approach
 
Position Specific:
• Provides Decision Support Information to inform internal and external reporting requirements 
• Supports the Wait Time Coordinator for both the Surgical Access to Care Program (including liaising with surgeons’ offices) as well as the Medical Imaging Program 
• Assists in providing standardized, timely clinical utilization and indicator reports to the various Program Councils and corporate level reporting as well as ad hoc requests 
• Helps to generate required information for standardized reporting of dashboards
• Assists in performing data quality checks
• Maintains membership in appropriate professional organizations 
• Responsible for professional growth and self-development
• Performs other duties as required
