BAAC is actively hiring a Foreman to support large-scale infrastructure projects throughout Alberta.  This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations at construction project sites, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. This role involves managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining quality standards while adhering to project timelines and budgets.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in telecom, fibre, underground utility infrastructure, and long-haul linear construction environments.

We are looking for a strong field leader who understands production-driven construction, multi-crew coordination, and the operational demands of large-scale infrastructure projects. This position will primarily support remote Alberta operations while working closely with our Calgary corporate office and operations team.

 

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: $38-50 CAD per hour

Benefits: Extended health benefits (100% coverage), company vehicle, company fuel card, daily Living Out Allowance for projects outside of Calgary.

 

The Opportunity

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced infrastructure leader to take ownership of daily field execution across long-haul and corridor-based construction projects. You will coordinate multiple crews, subcontractors, materials, and schedules while helping ensure work is delivered safely and productively across active Alberta job sites. What You'll Do

  • Oversee daily field operations on long haul infrastructure projects
  • Coordinate supervisors, subcontractors, operators, and labour crews
  • Manage production schedules, manpower, equipment, and materials
  • Support telecom, fibre, underground utility, and civil infrastructure installation
  • Coordinate multiple active work fronts and maintain production targets
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to project specifications
  • Read and interpret civil drawings, utility layouts, schedules, and project plans
  • Conduct FLRAs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
  • Work closely with project managers, inspectors, engineers, and clients
  • Identify and resolve field conflicts, utility issues, and operational challenges
  • Maintain daily reporting, project updates, and communication with operations
  • Support mobilization and coordination for remote and long-haul project environments

 

What We're Looking For

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Foreman or in a similar supervisory role in construction, preferably in earth moving and underground services

  •  Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team

  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, tools, and equipment.

  • Commitment to safety and knowledge of health and safety regulations.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to maintain high standards of workmanship and deliver projects on time.

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and project schedules
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel and work throughout Alberta 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on linear or corridor-based infrastructure projects
  • Ground Disturbance Level II
  • CSTS 2020
  • Standard First Aid
  • Class 1 or Class 3 license considered an asset
  • Equipment operating experience considered an asset
