Ne-Chee Friendship Centre requires a F/T Bail Supervision Case Manager

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position will be responsible for supervising Bail Court orders, monitor bail release conditions and provide support to clients in the Bail Verification Supervision Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 Provide supervision services according to the clients needs and bail conditions
 Monitor clients’ bail conditions according to program standards
 Complete supervision support plans/assessments and review on regular basis with clients
 Provide counselling and referrals to culturally appropriate services to address client needs
 Maintain case recording of all contacts made with the clients and other agencies on their behalf
 Liaise with police, court officials and Indigenous service providers to support bail clients
 Provide crisis intervention and enhanced mental health support to bail clients as required
 Prepare and complete weekly/monthly statistical reports
 Work cooperatively with other Bail workers in the team; Case Management
 Work with community supervision programs when transferring eligible clients back to community
 Travelling with clients when needed or to advocate for client when providing services supporting bail conditions

QUALIFICATIONS
 Graduation from, or work-related experience in, the following fields: Law, Criminology, Law and Justice, Law Enforcement, Social Work, Psychology, and Community Services
 Knowledge of the Gladue principles
 Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions and practices; Ability to speak Ojibway or Oji-Cree is an asset
 Proven ability to work with individuals from the Indigenous community
 Knowledge of historic and current forms of colonialism, systemic discrimination, and barriers facing Indigenous communities.
 Experience in counselling and crisis intervention; Project a positive, friendly and professional attitude
 Ability to articulate criminal and social justice issues; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Self-motivated individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
 Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
 Constant ability to learn and to respond constructively to change and stressful situations
 Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends; Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle, proper insurance will be required

Comprehensive benefit package including a pension plan
Salary Range: $46,000 to $48,000 to start
