JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize hand held tools such as nail guns, staplers, saws
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons
  • Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers
  • Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape, using strapping machine
  • Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
  • Loading items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Operate machinery used in the shipping process
  • Operate Fork Truck, Reach truck and or Overhead Crane
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 50 pounds using a hoist)
  • Uphold all government standards applicable to the responsibilities above
  • Must be prepared and capable of working outdoors throughout each season
  • May be required to work an alternate shift

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Forklift License
  • 2 years of Shipping & Receiving experience (preferred)

 

Salary: $19.50/hour plus Afternoon/Overnight premiums
