POSITION SUMMARY:

The Press Feeder will work closely with the Press Operator, the Pressroom Supervisor and other production teams to ensure that all the pressroom goals are met with a high standard of quality. 

POSITION LOCATION:

This position will be located in the Toronto Plant and will have a regular shift starting 11:00pm until 7:00am.  The successful candidate must be able to work the occasional overtime during week days and/or weekends throughout peak periods.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to operator a feeder on a Heidelberg press
  • Must be able to fill fountains, put on plates
  • Be able to pile full size sheets of different weights of paper
  • Be able to read and understand a working docket / check on stock type and weights
  • Perform regular and preventative maintenance on machines / keep work areas clean
  • Use shop-floor system to log in/out of jobs
  • Examines product frequently to ensure that it meets customer quality standards and specifications
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures; and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out – tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies, and all strict Covid-19 protocols
  • Monitor of consumables
  • Ensuring continuous improvement throughout all levels of the process
  • Ability to work occasional overtime in evenings and/or weekends during peak period
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience operating a Heidelberg press
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Clamp truck, Raymond Reach, Walkie training / license an asset
  • Ability to conduct maintenance on equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Meticulous, bondable reliable
