Position Summary

The Night Watering Technician is responsible for performing watering operations during nighttime hours to optimize turf health and playing conditions on the golf course. Working under the supervision of the Golf Course Maintenance Manager this position requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for golf course maintenance. This role requires availability during the evenings/overnight. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate irrigation system controls to water designated areas of the golf course during nighttime hours
  • Conduct routine inspections of irrigation equipment, including sprinklers, valves, and pipelines, to ensure proper functioning and identify any maintenance needs.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to irrigation system components as directed by the Golf Course Maintenance Manager
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to coordinate watering schedules and prioritize areas requiring attention.
  • Record watering activities, observations, and equipment maintenance tasks accurately in daily logs or electronic systems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping preferred.
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems and basic knowledge of irrigation principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently during nighttime hours with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify turf health issues and irrigation system malfunctions.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to operate irrigation equipment, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks as needed.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the golf course.
