POSITION: Breakfast Cook                  

DEPARTMENT: Culinary            

STATUS OF POSITION: Full Time Year Round

 

Position Summary

As a breakfast cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast items according to established recipes and standards. You will work closely with kitchen staff to ensure efficient breakfast service and maintain high-quality food standards. Attention to detail, time management, and a passion for creating delicious breakfast dishes are essential for success in this role.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast items according to recipes and customer preferences.
  • Ensure that all breakfast items are cooked to the proper temperature and presented attractively.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of breakfast orders.
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times, including temperature monitoring, storage guidelines, and cleanliness of cooking equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation of breakfast ingredients, including chopping vegetables, cracking eggs, and portioning meats.
  • Maintain inventory of breakfast ingredients and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, and workstations after each use.
  • Collaborate with servers and other restaurant staff to ensure efficient breakfast service.
  • Adapt to changes in breakfast menu items and special requests from customers.
  • Uphold high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation to meet customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a breakfast cook or in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of breakfast cooking techniques and recipes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Food handler's certification may be required depending on local regulations.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
  • Culinary degree or certification from a culinary school is a plus but not required.
  • Passion for cooking and creating delicious breakfast dishes.
