POSITION: Industrial Electrician/Ski Lift Mechanic Trainee

DEPARTMENT: Mountain Operations

REPORTS TO: Lift Mechanic Manager

STATUS OF POSITION: Full Time with Benefits

We offer highly competitive wages ranging from $60,000-$67,000 depending on skills and experience.

 

Position Summary

The Industrial Electrician works as a productive member of our team to ensure the safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment including ski lifts.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expert, skilled, knowledgeable and safe use of hand tools, battery testers, soldering irons, volt/ohm/amp meters, oscilloscopes, and industrial/personal computers.  
  • Extensive aerial work
  • Climbing and working at heights up to 130 feet.  
  • Operation of snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, four-wheel drives, and some heavy equipment.  
  • Most work is performed outdoors in a mountain environment, sometimes with temperatures down to -20˚.  
  • The job requires a valid driver’s license  

 

Qualifications:

  • Fully Licensed Industrial Mechanic
  • Knowledge of AC/DC electronics and the ability to read schematics
  • The ability to identify and replace specific parts on an electronic assembly without supervision.  
  • Willing to be put into the Ski Lift Mechanic Training Program (SLM-T)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent  
  • Able to read, write and speak English fluently   
  • 4 years previous electrical experience
  • Industrial electrical experience an asset
  • Ski lift electrical experience preferred
  • Have a strong understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers, ladder logic, and how they interface with safeties, DC drives, VFDs, relay logic controls.  
  • Knowledge of AC & DC Drives, AC & DC Motors, up to 1000 HP
  • Possess or willing to work towards Lift Mechanic Certification   
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds  
  • Able to work outside in inclement weather
  • Able and willing to work weekends, holidays and evenings
